MY LIFE AS BUSINESSMAN, SOLDIER & PRIEST – ARCHBISHOP NICHOLAS OKOH

MY LIFE AS BUSINESSMAN, SOLDIER & PRIEST – ARCHBISHOP NICHOLAS OKOH

MY LIFE AS BUSINESSMAN, SOLDIER & PRIEST – ARCHBISHOP NICHOLAS OKOH

Looking back at his very risky decision of joining the Nigerian Army during the Civil War at the age of 16 years, Archbishop Nicholas Okoh has disclosed that he views the development as the hand of destiny that moved him from rascality into the vineyard of the Creator, and eventually into the position the Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Primate Okoh who made this known while assessing his terrestrial journey so far said he would ever be grateful to God for the Lord’s abundant grace that has charted the course of events in his life.

Speaking in an interactive session in Abuja, Okoh who retired from the Chaplaincy of the Nigerian Army as a Lt. Colonel also disclosed that he had no problems with speaking truth to power in both civilian and military settings. According to him, ‘’Most times, people in authority do not feel offended by men of God. It is mostly people around them who try to create enmity. The head of the Anglican Church in Nigeria further disclosed that: ‘’When I was asked to come to this office (Primate) I consulted my family and they gave their consent before we moved. I wasn’t too sure I would be able to go through. I didn’t credit myself with that level of leadership ability but as we went on, the grace of God started manifesting, with the cooperation of people, support, sometimes abuse, I also learned from my mistakes. That’s why I got to this height’.

On how God recruited him and his background, the archbishop said it was very strange. Primate Okoh who is disengaging on 25th March, 2020 spoke further in the compilation captioned: ‘ARCHBISHOP NICHOLAS OKOH — MY LIFE AS BUSINESSMAN, SOLDIER, AND PRIEST’
